Thyroid and Stress
Your stress management system is rooted in the function of your adrenal glands, which operate in an interdependent fashion with your overall thyroid system. Many books on adrenals list all the symptoms of low thyroid as adrenal problems and vice versa. There are differences. Morning energy, stress tolerance, and aerobic fitness are primarily adrenal issues. Thyroid issues are more about afternoon energy level, being too cold, and feeling mentally sluggish or heavy headed (adrenals issues go more with brain fog).
Thyroid sets your basic supply of energy for your body to use. Not having enough automatically stresses your adrenals if there is an increased demand for needed energy. Conversely, tired adrenals make it so your body gets too inflamed from even normal activities forcing your thyroid to go slower than it would like so that you don't overheat and burn up. Ongoing stress can wreak havoc with these problems.
If you are someone who struggles with a long list of adrenal and thyroid symptoms then you have to nurse both systems back on at the same time. A good way to do this is to use basic thyroid support along with basic adrenal support.
In order to get these systems back into good condition you must find an amount of exercise you can do on a consistent basis and then gradually increase the amount. When you can get a refreshing response to aerobic type exercise that is done at least three times a week, then both your adrenal and thyroid system will be working better. Don't push too hard with exercise, be consistent and gradually improve what you can do.
Key nutrients for stress management can be plugged into a thyroid support program, enabling you to have better stress tolerance (Stress Helper and PhosphatidylSerine) and less wear and tear from stress (quercetin and vitamin C).*
Adrenal Helper™
Support your adrenals and boost morning energy, stamina, and vitality. This blend of adaptogenic herbs helps strengthen your nervous system and improve energetic, physical, and mental function when under stress.*
PhosphatidylSerine
Reduced price!Builds highly electrical brain cells, the fastest acting nutrient for short-term memory, focus, and coordination. Helps improve the function of the adrenal based stress response system enabling your core limbic system to better process stress demands in an appropriate way. Many students use this nutrient to help boost memory retention while studying and offset the stress associated with an upcoming test.*
Stress Helper®
Stress Helper® provides 150 mg of Pantethine per capsule along with Acetyl-l-Carnitine and Carnosine, a critical boost of specialty stress-busting nutrients that not only helps the adrenals but also helps calm emotional stress and boost nerve function, mental performance, and overall mood.*
C, Vitamin C Capsules
Reduced price! The highest concentration of vitamin C in your body is in your adrenal glands. Upon stress stimulation your adrenals release vitamin C prior to the release of cortisol, essential for a normal stress response. Adrenals simply must have vitamin C or they cannot perform up to par. We use highly purified vitamin C, in unbuffered capsules or buffered tablets.
Quercetin
Reduced price! Many irritants in your blood (pollution, stress chemicals, germ debris) can irritate and inflame your thyroid. The best nutrient to help stabilize your thyroid tissue is the bioflavonoid called quercetin. It can really help calm down and cool off a thyroid system that feels like it is suffering from too much wear and tear.*
C, Buffered Vitamin C Tablets
Reduced price!Highly-purified with no additives. Nutrient support for the immune system, adrenals and stress.* There are two vitamin C options: Vitamin C Capsules and Buffered C Tablets.
