Ask Mary Elle: What are Your Tips for Staying in Shape?
April 11, 2025
Question: What are your tips for staying in shape?
Answer: Maintaining a healthy body composition isn’t about counting every calorie or obsessing over the scale. It’s about feeling strong, energized, and comfortable in your own skin. Over the years, I’ve found that the best way to stay in shape is to focus on the habits that make me feel good—not just in the short term, but for life. Here’s what works for me:
✔ Eat Protein at Every Meal
Protein keeps me full and fuels my muscles. I make sure to get high-quality protein daily, whether it’s from grass-fed whey protein, eggs, fish, or plant-based sources. My go-to breakfast? Daily Protein Plus, which blends easily into smoothies for a quick, satisfying protein boost without the added calories, sugars, sweeteners, fillers, or additives.
✔ Balance Blood Sugar
No one feels good on the blood sugar rollercoaster. I stick to whole foods, fiber-rich veggies, and healthy fats to keep my energy steady and cravings in check. I follow the 5 Rules of the Leptin Diet and eat 3 meals per day with no snacking or eating after dinner. Supplements like Berberine Ultra, Thyroid Helper, Leptinal, and Stress Helper support my metabolism.
✔ Move My Body Daily
Each day, I focus on movement I enjoy—long walks, hiking, strength training, yoga, stretches, movement exercises, climbing stairs and hills, even playing with my grandkids. Consistency is key!
✔ Prioritize Sleep & Stress Management
Stress and sleep deprivation wreak havoc on your health. Stress Helper ensures I don’t give in to cravings during stressful days, and at night I wind down with RelaxaMag to prepare for restorative sleep.
The takeaway? Maintaining a healthy body composition isn’t about restriction—it’s about creating sustainable habits that make you feel good inside and out!
