Is there something that you want to ask a health professional that falls outside the "conventional medicine" comfort zone? Your health is your whole self: mind, body, spirit, family, and community. I want to help you find active solutions!

Surgery?

My doctor recommended an outpatient surgery that's very costly and I'm not sure it's necessary but I don't know as much as my doctor does. Should I just listen and go ahead with the surgery?

Don't Be a Robot! In a non-life threatening health situation ALWAYS know the facts about a medical drug or procedure being recommended or "forced" on you and similarly know about proven natural options that work, backed by science and results. An example of this is being told that one's gall bladder must be removed to solve issues with the gall bladder. Study up on that operation, learn side effects to living without a gall bladder, learn about what else you could do about the situation with accurate information and facts and then make your health decision for yourself.

Youth and Health

It seems like there are so many damaging and aging factors working against me. How can I maintain my youth and health?

Educate Yourself! The best way to stay young and healthy is to take an active role in your life. Read and research alternatives and solutions for your health and nutrition. When explaining to a woman that the HRT she was on was not the safest and best way of protecting her bones and heart, she said that her doctor told her it was her only option. She was unaware of the many side effects of HRT, such as weight gain (of which she was complaining of) and the grave risk of cancer. It is up to you to learn your options and make an educated decision for yourself. There is a cause for every symptom you experience; learn what it is so that you can be more successful in getting to the root of it and alleviating the problem.
