Uterine Fibroids

Q:   I have the utmost respect for you and your husband and for what you both are doing for humanity. I too have studied health and nutrition and follow a very clean diet, fish, vegetables, (no white flour, no soda, sugar or dairy – with the exception of organic butter and occasionally organic eggs). I do drink red wine; about a glass a day or every other day. I have large uterine fibroids, which usually do not cause me any trouble. However, I am very fit and active and can sometimes feel pressure. What would you recommend as I am contemplating a myomectomy?

A:   Uterine fibroids are caused by a combination of higher estrogen relative to lower progesterone, stress, and typically GI toxicity.

General advice is to rub 3-5 drops of Iosol Iodine over your lower abdominal area, which will absorb and help change the way estrogen is metabolized so that it doesn’t fuel growth. You can boost up this concept with products like Preventer Plus™ and Quercetin. If you have menstrual symptoms or heavy blood flow you can also consider some natural progesterone (Pro Femme Crème™). The overall goal is to get estrogen and progesterone into better balance.

Stress depletes progesterone, thus exposing you to higher estrogen. Use enough energy support to stay out of any feeling of wear and tear. Daily Energy Multiple Vitamin™, Pantethine, Q10, and Female Plus™ are all possibilities. The goal here is to stay energized and not stressed. A good night’s sleep is important.

Digestive problems can fuel estrogen excess by causing estrogen that should be excreted to re-enter your general circulation. Extra soluble fiber is really needed if you have any GI problems (LeptiFiber™ or Fiber Helper™ can assist). The soluble fiber helps to clear bile more effectively, and your estrogen that needs to get out is in your bile.

Repair Plus™, with the proteolytic enzymes, may help to shrink the fibroid. This works well for women if the above three areas are also under control.

Itchy Skin

Q:   In one of the flyers, itchy skin was listed. What supplement would you take to combat itchy skin?

A:   I suggest you take Quercetin (3-6 a day). The higher dose of 6 may be needed when the situation is acute. Squalene also helps with skin conditions. 3-6 a day has been known to help various types of skin issues. Daily Balancer™ will help to handle the toxins (usually causing the skin itching).

Losing Weight and Keeping it Off

Q:   I am more than 20 pounds overweight and I’ve done every diet on the planet. I can lose weight, but I cannot keep it off. Help!

A:   When metabolism and the related hormones, most specifically leptin, but also cortisol, insulin, and thyroid hormones, have had to go through the dieting roller coaster, it is absolutely imperative to provide proper nutrients for the body. Without proper nutrient support, it is virtually impossible to stabilize difficult weight management issues. The Leptin Control Pack® is the most comprehensive way to support weight management issues. It has been specifically designed to target each of the problematic areas of weight management including the hormone resistance issues with leptin, thyroid, insulin, and cortisol resistance. Additional nutrients have been included to help with the fluid retention frequently associated with obesity. The Leptin Control Pack® contains Leptinal®, LeptiSlim®, Stress Helper™, Thyroid Helper®, Pine Nut Oil, Cinnamon Plus™ and Mangosteen Plus™. These products are also available for purchase separately. Following the Five Rules (discussed in The Leptin Diet and Mastering Leptin) is also essential to getting the leptin hormone back on track. This will greatly influence metabolism towards burning extra fat stores.

Thyroid Medication and Thyroid Helper

Q:   I am currently using a thyroid medication. Can I take Thyroid Helper®?

A:   Yes you may take Thyroid Helper® along with your thyroid medication as it will simply help the medication work better within the tissues. Thyroid Helper® is not replacement thyroid hormone, rather it provides nutrients that improves the conversion of inactive thyroid hormone (T4) to active thyroid hormone (T3), along with improving the transport and absorption of activated thyroid hormone into cell tissues to turn on metabolism. Each of these mechanisms requires proper nourishment in order to adequately function. Thyroid Helper® provides that nourishment. You may view more information about Thyroid and Metabolism here.

Immunity and the Flu

Q:   What one thing can I give my husband to support his immune system? He does not like taking anything but he gets the flu every winter.

A:   There are any number of choices for prevention and support; however the top products for prevention would be Super Immune Booster™ and Activator Plus™. Super Immune Booster™ will help to engage the natural killer cells and give germicidal support for germs that one comes into contact. Activator Plus helps keep the immune system and liver energized. Activator Plus™ would the product of choice if one has a tendency to be fatigued or getting run down.

Fall and Spring Sinus Infections

Q:   I get sinus infections every fall and spring. Antibiotics make things temporarily better but it always comes back. Are there alternatives?

A:   Sinus infections are 90% of the time fungal infections. Antibiotics will not solve the problem and frequently contribute to repeated sinus infections. Great combinations of nutrients to support the sinuses include Oregano Oil and Immune Plus™. Additional support for sinus infections may be Shark Liver Oil, Monolaurin and Super Immune Booster™.

Nutrients vs Antibiotics and Antivirals

Q:   How does using nutrients that help kill germs differ from using prescription antibiotics or antivirals? If I take nutrients that are natural germ killers, will they disrupt the normal bacteria in the gut like antibiotics?

A:   Using nutritional supplements to fortify the immune system or nutrients that are germicidal are not toxic to the human body. Many adverse effects and side effect occur with prescription medications, while nutritional products are much easier on the body thereby allowing even young children, the immuno-compromised and elderly to use the products. Natural products do not create the same adverse effects on the gastro-intestinal tract as antibiotics do. If a person is on long-term natural germicidals, they may want to supplement with Super Dophilus™ to decrease the chance of GI tract disruption.

Flu Prevention for the Elderly

Q:   My 86 year old mother lives in the nursing home. Her health is generally okay but she is wheelchair bound. What are your suggestions for prevention of the flu?

A:   Nursing home residents live within an environment of great immune challenge. An easy plan of support for her includes Daily Protector™, Vitamin D, Activator Plus™, Super Immune Booster™ and /or GI Soother™ or some combination of those listed. More nutrients may be used as needed, but often there is a limitation with nursing staff cooperation.

Stomach Flu Help

Q:   The stomach flu is going around at our house; one person gets it then the next person and it makes the round for everyone. This cycle happens anytime one person gets ill in our house. We miss school, work and family activities because of this. What can we do to stop the progression?

A:   Using nutrients to support and boost the body’s terrain in both young and old is critical to reducing down time with infections and prevention of illness along with basic strategies of hand washing, cutting down sugar and processed foods and getting adequate sleep. To boost the body’s terrain one may use Daily Protector™ and Activator Plus™ on an on-going basis. This provides antioxidants and direct nourishment for the immune system. For additional preventative and/or germicidal support, consider GI Soother™, Immune Plus™, Super Immune Booster™, Monolaurin and/or Oregano Oil. Other resources include Colloidal Silver, Noni Plus™, and Shark Liver Oil.

Building Immunity During the Flu Season

Q:   My physician is pressing me to get the flu shot. I don’t want to get it. What alternatives do I have?

A:   A person may use nutrition as a wonderful natural means to keep their immune system energized and ready for battle if and when exposed to various colds/flus. Nutritional resources providing nourishment for a healthy immune system include Daily Protector™, Daily Balancer™, Activator Plus™ and even Daily Protein™. Additional nutrients for nourishment are Shark Liver Oil, GI Soother™, and/or Immune Plus™. If a person does get hit with the flu, additional germicidal nutrients may be added to the regime.
