Train Your “Bitter Tooth” to Prevent Obesity

Too many Americans are addicted to sweet taste and have an adversely altered taste perception.  On the flip side of this coin is a more neutral reaction to bitter-tasting vegetables.  New research in children shows that those with an increased aversion to bitter taste are six times more likely to become obese – a problem that is aggravated if their mother is also overweight.

This means there should be a tremendous effort from parents to restrict the intake of sweets while encouraging a wide range of vegetables.  Parents succeed based on food being fresher and prepared in more palatable ways.  This takes work, but it pays off in the long run.  When appetite desires are properly balanced while a child’s nervous and taste systems are evolving it can set the stage for far healthier eating over the course of a lifetime.

If this is a weak spot in your history then in addition to making yourself eat more vegetables on a regular basis you are likely to benefit from LeptiSlim – which contains bitter herbs and is a great product to help control sugar cravings.  Every now and then open up a capsule and place a small amount of the contents on your tongue – giving it a bit of a bitter jolt.  If you do this often enough the bitter jolt will become more neutral over time and you will notice that vegetables are more palatable.  It is never to late to reprogram a faulty sense of taste – and having a higher tolerance for bitter foods is quite helpful for making better food choices.
