Dietary Fat and Exercise Stimulate Fat Cell Metabolism

Contrary to much faulty dietary advice, new science shows that fat is required, along with exercise, to stimulate fat cells to break down stored fat in overweight individuals. It is quite true that eating too much fat, especially in combination with refined sugar, will lead to weight gain. However, this new information shows that a low-fat diet is not the best way for an overweight person to stimulate weight loss. Saturated fat as a percentage of calories turns out to be helpful. The research also showed that long chain essential fatty acids, like DHA Docosahexaenoic acid Essential omega 3 fatty acid integral to the health of all cell membranes, nerve and brain function. Must be gotten through the diet via cold water oceanic fish or some very limited plant sources or taken as a supplement., are required to activate fat metabolism, especially under stress. This information is consistent with the metabolism of leptin, as explained in the Leptin Diet, and the emerging view that fat cells are a dynamic metabolic system that have been very poorly understood.
