DHA Lowers Inflammation in Men with Metabolic Problems

Elevated triglycerides are an important independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease and they also signify a significant problem with leptin resistance.  Both problems have inflammation associated with them.  A new study shows that in men with elevated triglycerides1, 3000 mg of DHA Docosahexaenoic acid Essential omega 3 fatty acid integral to the health of all cell membranes, nerve and brain function. Must be gotten through the diet via cold water oceanic fish or some very limited plant sources or taken as a supplement. per day is able to lower various inflammatory markers like CRP C-reactive protein. It is an acute phase protein that increases during systemic inflammation. It is a general way to assess cardiovascular disease risk. A more sensitive test for heart disease risk is hs-CRP, highly sensitive CRP. (C reactive protein) and IL6 (interleukin 6 Type of inflammatory cytokine secreted by T cells and macrophage Type of white blood cell designed to "eat up" debris and pathogens. It also stimulates various cells to respond to pathogens. that act as both pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory in response to trauma, burns, and other tissue damage that leads to inflammation.).

It is already an established fact that fish oil helps to lower triglycerides in humans.  This new study is simply adding to this powerful cardiovascular and metabolic protective role of DHA Docosahexaenoic acid Essential omega 3 fatty acid integral to the health of all cell membranes, nerve and brain function. Must be gotten through the diet via cold water oceanic fish or some very limited plant sources or taken as a supplement..  Because inflammatory signals drive many health problems including those relating to leptin function, obesity, thyroid function, heart disease, and nerve decline, it is good news that a single nutrient can help so many issues.

In the study, after 90 days, the volume of inflammatory immune cells was down by 10%.  CRP C-reactive protein. It is an acute phase protein that increases during systemic inflammation. It is a general way to assess cardiovascular disease risk. A more sensitive test for heart disease risk is hs-CRP, highly sensitive CRP. was lowered by 15% and IL6 by 23%.

The dose of DHA Docosahexaenoic acid Essential omega 3 fatty acid integral to the health of all cell membranes, nerve and brain function.
