Folic Acid and Vitamin D Help Allergies and Asthma

Two new studies help to show the power of nutrition to assist allergies and asthma. In one study people with higher levels of folic acid in their blood had had fewer IgE antibodies, fewer reported allergies, less wheezing and lower likelihood of asthma. In another study researchers found that lower blood levels of vitamin D in children were linked to allergy and asthma severity.

Children Taking Multi-Vitamins Have Less Allergy

Swedish researchers were trying to prove that taking multivitamins as a child would cause more allergy. Instead, they showed that children taking multivitamins regularly from age 4 or earlier have significantly less allergy by age 8.

Childhood Asthma Epidemic is Linked to Low Vitamin D

In 1982, 2.5 million children had asthma. This number has skyrocketed to 7 million children in 2009 (9.4% of children). This is a national disgrace.
