Resveratrol Articles:

Resveratrol Improves Insulin Function and Longevity

Resveratrol is a natural antiseptic compound produced in plants when they are under attack, especially by mold. It is highly concentrated in red grapes that grow in damp or moldy areas. It is also contained in roots of plants used in traditional Chinese and Japanese medicine, such as Polygonum cuspidatum.

Is Resveratrol the Fountain of Youth?

There are a lot of great anti-aging and metabolism boosting nutrients: DHA, pantethine, acetyl-l-carnitine, carnosine, R-alpha lipoic acid, grape seed extracts – the list goes on and on. In fact, most nutrients help cells function better and thus live longer. So, why is resveratrol vying for the position as King of the anti-aging nutrients – with a potent fat-burning twist thrown in for good measure?

Another Resveratrol Anti-Aging Breakthrough

A new mechanism has been identified that explains one novel way that resveratrol not only helps prevent aging but may help reverse it. It involves a unique way in which the resveratrol-activated SIRT1 guards your DNA. In the new study the researchers state: “We see here, through a proof-of-principal demonstration, that elements of aging can be reversed.”

Breakthrough on Circadian Rhythms, Aging, & Metabolism

Our human systems are timed to a 24 hour clock. New research has shown that this clock regulates your energy levels and thus your metabolism. The researchers found that various proteins that regulate your clock and metabolism are linked and dependent on each other. This is a profound discovery.

Resveratrol Continues to Impress

Resveratrol is at the forefront of anti-aging research due to its powerful ability to activate sirtuins in the nucleus of the cell, key gene signals involved with cell survival. Interestingly, higher doses of resveratrol also help kill cancer cells. The excitement is permeating the scientific world, as can be seen in the comments from authors of a recent review on resveratrol.

Can Resveratrol Prevent Prostate Cancer?

Resveratrol is repeatedly in the headlines as a potent anti-aging nutrient and I have written about this extensively in my article, Is Resveratrol the Fountain of Youth? A new cell study shows that resveratrol can block the transition of cancer cells into the form that becomes aggressive prostate cancer that is more likely to kill.

Resveratrol Blocks Infection-Induced Nerve Damage

The neurotoxicity of infections is a major problem facing anyone, especially the very young and the elderly. In the very young these toxins can disturb brain structure and function resulting in a variety of problems ranging from ADHD to Autism-related disorders. In the elderly these toxins can cause significant memory loss and cognitive decline. A new study shows that resveratrol can significantly protect nerves from the toxicity of infection.

How Exercise Improves Cardiovascular Health

The way modern medicine treats cardiovascular patients you would think that anyone with a problem is so brittle they need to be considered a humpty-dumpty about ready to fall off a wall. This logic is extended to exercise wherein individuals are cautioned not to overdo it. A new study shows that it is the force of the blood moving through your circulation that actually triggers various gene signals that are highly cardiovascular protective.

Resveratrol Protects Brain from Stroke Damage

The anti-aging resveratrol has yet another newly demonstrated method of protecting the brain. A variety of new cell and animal studies show that is activates an enzyme within the brain called heme oxygenase 1 that boosts up the brain’s defense system. When researchers gave relatively small amounts of resveratrol as a protective nutrient and then induced experimental stroke, reseveratrol drastically minimized the damage compared to animals not given resveratrol.
