Chlorella is a single cell fresh water green microalgae that is loaded with nutrients. It contains more nucleic acids (RNA/DNA) than any other food which gives it a lot of energy-producing potential. It is a great supplement to boost any diet lacking in green vegetables (great for children) and it has a wide variety of useful nutritional applications including the support of natural detoxification, digestive health, immune function, inflammation reduction, antioxidant function, estrogen balance, cholesterol metabolism, and circulation.

Your liver is the metabolic brain of your body, the workhorse that processes, stores, and distributes every calorie you consume. Your liver must also work right for you to clear toxins of any kind, as well as to make bile for digestive purposes. As your liver function deteriorates, so goes your health in general. A new study shows that the nutrient NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine) can prevent the adverse progression of liver deterioration that would be typical in any person that is overweight.

A new human study on chlorella shows that it is a powerful tool in helping your cholesterol and blood sugar metabolism. Participants consumed 8,000 mg of chlorella per day (in two doses/4,000 mg at a time). At the end of 12 weeks blood glucose and cholesterol had significantly improved in those participants that were on the verge of poor health.

A new study shows for the first time that the higher the exposure of a mother to the pesticide DDE the more likely she is to have a child who later becomes obese. DDE is a breakdown product of the now banned and formerly widely used DDT, an estrogen-mimetic fat-soluble toxin, The last time the government checked broad exposure of this toxin in Americans was in the National Human Adipose Tissue Survey (NHATS), which found 93% of fat samples from across the country were contaminated with DDE at high levels.

Researchers from UC Davis have published a collection of studies demonstrating once and for all the mechanisms explaining how PCBs, which are a widespread contaminant in the US food supply, directly alter the shape and function of brain cells causing excitotoxic changes in cells that are associated with ADHD, learning disabilities, mental retardation, and other forms of cognitive impairment.

Several new animal studies show that chlorella is yet another nutritional tool to assist in the battle of the bulge. One study showed it could improve leptin and insulin function despite a high fat diet. Another study showed it prevents the accumulation of fat in fat cells (blunting the storage of calories).

For decades the FDA and EPA have essentially been run by the industries they are supposed to regulate. A new 240-page report outlines the serious health threat of these chemicals to all Americans, claiming that their former role in cancer has been grossly underestimated and needlessly devastate American lives. I have argued for many years that all the toxic chemicals Americans are exposed to on a regular basis amounts to Russian roulette with your gene weaknesses, a bizarre game of genetic survival of the fittest.

The Obama administration appears to be moving in slow motion as the BP oil spill catastrophe unfolds like a bad nightmare. There is another environmental catastrophe the president should also be concerned about, and it is once again spelled out in a new report from researchers at Tuft’s University School of Medicine. The prevalence of high amounts of endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), including bisphenol A, is a cancer causing public health crisis in America.
