Black Currant Oil

Black Currant Oil is extracted from current seeds. It is an alternative to fish oil for those who are allergic to fish or simply prefer a plant-source oil. While it does not contain DHA, it is one of the only plants that contains a precursor oil to DHA called stearidonic acid as well as the basic omega 3 oil called alpha-linolenic acid.

Because it is high in GLA it helps the important enzyme, delta-6 desaturase (D6D) make DHA from the more basic omega 3 oils.* Black Currant Oil make is an excellent way to obtain omega 3 and omega 6 essential fatty acids from a vegetarian source.*
