Vitamin C and Lipoic Acid Protect Eyes

New research is the first to show that eye health, even when there is an existing eye problem, can be maintained through the use of antioxidant supplements1. In the experiment animals had an eye problem that induced oxidative stress, and the antioxidants protected the retina from being “punched in the nose” by the problem. The study clearly showed that oral antioxidants protected the eyes from degeneration that would have otherwise been caused by the problem. It is important to understand that our eyes must constantly trap free radicals generated from light. If antioxidants run low then eye stress and eye wear and tear follows due to the free radical damage. The antioxidants used in this study were vitamin C, lipoic acid, and glutathione. Glutathione is the backbone antioxidant in cells and is best made by taking precursor nutrients such as NAC. Vitamin C, lipoic acid, and vitamin E all help prop up and support the cellular level of glutathione. Invariably, a basic dietary supplement program should have a multiple antioxidant, such as Daily Protector, which is designed to boost the glutathione defense system as well as providing other eye friendly nutrients like lutein, which protect and nourish the macular pigment in the eye. Because of all the pollution that uses up your antioxidants we also recommend Daily Balancer which contains lipoic acid and other important toxin-clearing antioxidants. Both products are in the Daily Super Pack. Don’t let your eyes down. They respond quite well to nutrition. Share:
