Thyroid Cancer Mysteriously on the Rise

Scientists appear befuddled by the 6.5% yearly jump in thyroid cancer1 – the only cancer in the U.S. on a rapid and surprising rate of incline.  Let me help them out, the widespread contamination of the food supply with perchlorate is most likely the main reason – along with general pollution and too many CT scans.

The thyroid gland is far more sensitive to chemicals than just about any other gland in your body.  Once chemicals and stress start inflaming the thyroid gland then free radical distress occurs.  After a period of time such free radical distress leads to cell mutations.  Radiation exposure magnifies this problem immensely.

All Americans need to be more than adequate in iodine, as many chemical pollutants can readily bind to the thyroid and have a more magnified effect if iodine is lacking – especially the rocket fuel ignition substance known as perchlorate (which contaminates ground water in major food growing regions of the U.S.).

Also, if you need an X-ray or CT scan for some reason, take a lot of iodine before hand and a loading dose of R Alpha Lipoic Acid.  Take extra lipoic acid, up to 600 mg a day for at least a month following any exposure – it is one of the best nutrients for offsetting radiation stress.  These simple measures can help protect your thyroid.

Iodine and Lipoic Acid are two good nutrients to have on hand just in case there is ever a surge of radiation exposure in your area.
