Mainstream Doctors Warn Against Antibiotics

Mainstream doctors are now sounding the alarm bells about the excess overuse of antibiotics and the fact that antibiotics can permanently alter digestive flora balance in an adverse way and cause many health problems. Dr. Martin Blaser, chairman of the department of medicine at New York University Langone Medical Center, says that antibiotics may even be fueling the “dramatic increase” in many illnesses, including type 1 diabetes, allergies and inflammatory bowel disease by destroying the body’s friendly flora, or protective bacteria. Dr. Cesar Arias, assistant professor of infectious disease at University of Texas Medical School, wholeheartedly agreed with Dr. Blaser. “These drugs affect what we’re colonized with, particularly in the digestive tract,” said Arias. “If you alter your flora, you can promote certain superbugs to colonize in your gut and get into the bloodstream.” It is clear that millions of Americans have had their digestive tracts adversely altered by indiscriminate and excessive use of antibiotics—and even by “appropriate use” to kill bacterial infection. For the past few decades the medical community has given lip service to being concerned about overuse of antibiotics breeding resistant superbugs, which also has happened. They have never been concerned about the millions of chronic Candida albicans infections they have given to American children. The new gene science shows that antibiotics are breeding hostile digestive tracts that are a major problem to human health. Will the medical profession ever get its head out of the sand? At least some in their ranks are starting to discuss the problem openly. The is further evidence of the extreme importance of managing your digestive health more proactively, especially if you have a history of antibiotic use and current digestive problems, autoimmune problems, weight problems, or trouble mounting a good immune response when others around you are getting sick. Strategies to boost your digestive health and strategies to employ natural options to help boost your immune system when needed can not only help you stay well but can keep you away from these highly toxic antibiotics.
