Lutein is the major component of the macular region of your eye, vital for vision.  DHA Docosahexaenoic acid Essential omega 3 fatty acid integral to the health of all cell membranes, nerve and brain function. Must be gotten through the diet via cold water oceanic fish or some very limited plant sources or taken as a supplement. is highly concentrated in your retina.  A new study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition shows that after four months of supplementation with lutein and DHA Docosahexaenoic acid Essential omega 3 fatty acid integral to the health of all cell membranes, nerve and brain function. Must be gotten through the diet via cold water oceanic fish or some very limited plant sources or taken as a supplement.1 the macular pigment optical density had improved.  The study authors concluded “Lutein and DHA Docosahexaenoic acid Essential omega 3 fatty acid integral to the health of all cell membranes, nerve and brain function. Must be gotten through the diet via cold water oceanic fish or some very limited plant sources or taken as a supplement. may aid in prevention of age-related macular degeneration.”

It is important to take such nutrients on a consistent basis as we know that when they are in the diet they are gradually being deposited and built into healthy structure.  When they are not in the diet they are gradually being depleted over time, eventually leading to problems.
