A scientific review of hawthorn in patients with mild to moderate chronic heart failure has shown that hawthorn has a significant rejuvenating effect on the heart. Amazingly, hawthorn extracts were able to improve oxygen utilization and decrease shortness of breath. Participants were able to exercise better and had significantly less fatigue. Hawthorn improved the strength of heart contractions, improved arterial blood flow, and reduced irregular beats. The authors concluded “These results suggest that there is a significant benefit in symptom control and physiologic outcomes from hawthorn extract as an adjunctive treatment for chronic heart failure.” Hawthorn is well known as a heart tonic nutrient. In light of this information it makes sense for any person wanting to strengthen their heart, improve physical fitness, and reduce shortness of breath or fluid retention. Share:
