Gum Problems Linked to Early Stroke in Men

Men take note – the risk of a stroke before age 65 is significantly increased in any man who has suffered periodontal bone loss as a result of a longer term issue with gum problems.

The researchers demonstrated this as an individual health risk – different from any other cardiovascular risk factor.  They believe that the long term problem with gum health is reflective of a long term increase in inflammatory problems, setting the stage for early stroke.
