A new mechanism has been identified that explains one novel way that resveratrol not only helps prevent aging but may help reverse it.  It involves a unique way in which the resveratrol-activated SIRT1 guards your DNA.  In the new study the researchers state: “We see here, through a proof-of-principal demonstration, that elements of aging can be reversed.”

A number of new studies have been making it clear that elevated triglycerides (excess fat blobs in your circulation) and elevated CRP (an inflammatory compound made by your liver) are key indicators of eventual heart disease.  I would also like to point out that these markers are clearly linked to sluggish thyroid as well…

Earlier this year researchers published data showing that grape seed extract polyphenols could prevent Alzheimer’s plaque from forming in mice.  In their latest experiments they sought to determine exactly how grape seed extract was able to work its magic.

A new study in JAMA indicates that nonfasting triglyceride levels are associated with stroke risk.  This data follows other recent research linking them to heart attacks.  Nonfasting triglycerides are not measured on routine blood tests, which are typically fasting.  Nonfasting triglycerides are more reflective of what your body is actually doing during the day.  Every time you snack between meals you raise your triglycerides, which is why rule #2 of the Leptin Diet is to eat three meals a day and do not snack.

A new study on cellular detoxification is helping piece together the puzzle of exactly how cells become unhealthy.  One primary cause is a failure of a cell’s trash removal and recycling systems to work properly, in turn setting off a cascade of cellular inflammation and free radical damage that sets the stage for poor health.

A new study provides dramatic proof of the inter-relationship between digestive contents (foreign cells) and your digestive-related immune system. Researchers have now identified that the endothelial cells that line your digestive tract sense the type of bacteria that are present in your digestive tract.  In response to this perception, instructions are then given to form lymph tissue that is specific to keeping that particular foreign type of cell in check (a customized police force).

I was fascinated by a new study from researchers at the University of Chicago showing that complex tasks learned during the day, and often forgotten, were remembered in the morning after sleep helped to consolidate and preserve the new learning.

New research shows that if a patient is lacking in vitamin D then injury from toxic statin drugs is likely to happen more often.  A whopping 38.8% of patients reported statin-related muscle aches and pains.

A new study shows that a poorly functioning thyroid is a contributing factor to worsening cardiovascular health.  The most surprising finding in the study is that the thyroid did not have to be clinically out-of-whack for this problem to occur.  A slightly off thyroid, one doctors don’t think of treating, was adequate to make heart health significantly worse.

The issue of cognitive decline and the more advanced Alzheimer’s disease is predicted to be a public health crisis in America over the next 20 years, as the swell of baby boomers hits the age when problems manifest.  This past week the Wall Street Journal ran an article on a man getting Alzheimer’s in his 40s, one of 500,000 Americans with early onset.

FDA management is doing everything in its power to keep the Big Pharma bubble from bursting.  A case in point is that of the bone drugs, one of the great scams of all time.

A brand new study out on vitamin C says that it is just as good at lowering CRP as a statin, at the dose of 1000 mg per day.

The statistics are painfully clear.  African-Americans are 40% more likely to die from cardiovascular disease than the white population; including a 250% increased chance for heart failure between ages 45 and 64.  Conditions that increase the risk for heart disease such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity, and diabetes are at epidemic levels in young African-Americans and the general trend of these health issues is worsening.

  • Niacin: Can It Help Your Cardio Health?,

More than 50 years of research indicates that niacin can help lower your triglycerides, raise your HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol), improve your circulation, and lower your LDL cholesterol, including Lipoprotein A.  These effects are likely to positively support weight management.

The script reads like a bad Hollywood movie:  make vitamin E look bad so men will line up like robots for their statins.  Producer:  the American Heart Association (AHA).  The actors are all worthless no-names on Big Pharma’s payroll.  The story never ends; but the damage to health is very real.

A new study just added the social element to mind and body health.  Of course, there have been many observations that some people are healthier and live longer when they have better social interaction.  However, scientists with their new tools are now showing that gene switches are turned on and off in your brain based on social interaction.

Researchers at UCLA tried to show that low vitamin D would make an autoimmune thyroid problem worse.  This turned out not to be the case, but what they did find was rather surprising.

A new study highlights just how vital it is to maintain healthy balance in your digestive tract.  The researchers found that a single inflammatory signal resulting from too much H. pyloria is adequate to drive processes that result in stomach cancer, the second leading cause of cancer mortality around the world.

A new study looking at sleep duration in 1138 children age 6 found that less than 10 hours of sleep on a regular basis increased the risk of obesity 420%.

While a child is developing in the womb major imprints are made on the developing nervous system that may affect brain health, growth, obesity, and future cardiovascular risk.  If children are to maximize their genetic potential then good parenting during pregnancy is a must.

A new study looked into the GABA levels in those having trouble sleeping and found they were 30 % below normal, a level that also contributes to an anxious feeling and poor mood.

The bad news for bisphosphonate bone drugs just keeps on coming.  The latest study presented showed that 2.5 to 3 percent of patients taking bisphosphonates experienced atrial fibrillation and 1 to 2 percent experienced serious AF, including hospitalization or death.

The National Cancer Institute’s (NCI) SELECT study (Selenium and Vitamin E Cancer Prevention Trial) for prostate cancer in men was halted this week after initial data analysis showed that selenium and vitamin E, taken alone or together for an average of five years, did not prevent prostate cancer...Well I have a question for the nutritionally-challenged people at NCI; why did you design a study that couldn’t possibly succeed and then waste taxpayer money on it?

A new human study on chlorella shows that it is a powerful tool in helping your cholesterol and blood sugar metabolism.  Participants consumed 8,000 mg of chlorella per day (in two doses/4,000 mg at a time).  At the end of 12 weeks blood glucose and cholesterol had significantly improved in those participants that were on the verge of poor health.

Sleep problems in children and teens have reached a crisis level in America.  New science shows that these issues are setting the table for obesity, depression, drug abuse, and future cardiovascular disease.  Specific biological pathways have now been defined that explain how sleep problems may lead directly to substance abuse.

While everyone knows that a lack of sleep does not feel good, the extent of the damage if sleep problems persist is far greater than previously understood.

We have known for a long time that children born to parents who don’t sleep well are likely to have sleep problems.  A new study is shedding more light on this issue, indicating that the fetal programming that takes places while in the womb may have a profound effect on a baby’s sleep pattern.

Theanine is the active component of green tea responsible not only for its taste but also for its relaxing effects.  Brain cells are known to generate electrical pulses from their cell surfaces called brain waves.  It was demonstrated in humans that 40 minutes after taking theanine (50 mg to 200 mg) relaxing alpha waves were generated in various brain regions, an effect that may last up to 12 hours.

Boron is a trace mineral vital to human health, especially for your bones.  Look out; Big Pharma wants to create a whole new industry centered on boron-containing drugs to treat cancer and disease.  Is this good?  Why are they interested?  This was the hot topic of a recent European health conference.

A new study shows more clear evidence of the inseparable link between digestive balance of foreign cells and human health.  In this study it was proven that specific bacteria provoke the human immune system into a pro-inflammatory condition, adversely influencing intestinal immunity and predisposing to inflammatory bowel disease.

Deterioration of myelin sheathing causes a “leakage” of electrical energy out the sides of nerves, resulting in disrupted function.  A news study in healthy men clearly shows that loss of myelin sheathing begins at age 39, a slow decay of nerve function which also relates to memory.  The initial sign is simply a loss of reflex speed.

    • Blueberries Protect the Brain from Toxic Stress,

A new study shows that blueberries are highly protective against brain damage induced by toxic exposure.

Snoring is a common problem that interferes with the health of the person who snores and the person who is disturbed by their partner snoring.  A new study indicates that those with the worst problems eat the most junk fat, whether they are overweight or not.

Glaucoma is a leading cause of blindness, a gradual deterioration of the optic nerve that often “sneaks up” on a person.  A new study says that patients who have glaucoma also have a 38% higher rate of thyroid problems.

Walk into any doctor’s office today (or for the next ten years), tell them you have H. Pylori, and they will pull out their toxic cannons and fire away – certain they are saving you from your symptoms as well as future cancer.  A significant body of new science shows that this view is not only wrong, but that such treatments are likely to increase the cause of esophageal cancer, the very problem they are supposed to be stopping!  That’s right, esophageal cancer rates in the U.S. are skyrocketing, due to the treatments that are supposed to be preventing them!

A recent scientific workshop on amino acids focused on the vital need for adequate glutamine.  Of particular importance is the effect glutamine has on rapidly dividing cells – it boosts up their cell volume and antioxidant status, and provides nutrition required for the synthesis of new RNA and DNA so that cells can multiply.

The flu vaccine in the past two years was not effective in reducing hospitalizations or doctor’s visits in children under 5.  In a normal world this would cause parents not to expose their young children to the risks of vaccination when the benefits are non-existent.

A study of 1373 men over a 40 year period has found that an additional 10 grams of dietary fiber intake per day reduced coronary heart disease mortality by 17% and death from any cause by 9%.

A study looking into the affect of various flavonoids on circulatory health, found that quercetin could reduce levels of endothelin-1.  Endothelin-1 is a protein that constricts blood vessels and raises blood pressure, whereas nitric oxide that helps relax blood vessels and lower pressure.

A significant new discovery about the importance of cholesterol to nerve and muscle health has just been made.  The researchers discovered that cholesterol is vital to the structure of key proteins involved with nerve transmission.  The finding is groundbreaking, its implications in the context of widespread high doses of statin drugs in the general population is alarming.

Americans once again get to watch, as industry-friendly managers at the FDA drag their feet while the health of tens of millions of American infants and children is in high danger.

A variety of new studies show beyond the shadow of a doubt that cell phone exposure alters nerve function in an adverse way, a problem that certainly increases based on exposure time and frequency of use.  Data indicates that this problem will be worse in the presence of other nerve related stress, and risks can be reduced by having adequate antioxidants (like vitamin E and C).  The data paints an alarming picture of risk for a young generation that has grown up attached to cell phones.

New research indicates that during intense exercise the lactic acid produced by your muscles can be used by your brain for energy production.  This discovery may be of extreme significance for individuals suffering from fibromyalgia.

Smoking pot may feel good for a while, but new science shows that it lays waste to your nervous system.  Researchers found that pot smokers are depleting their levels of BDNF, one of the single most important substances for brain health.

How many of us struggle with bad experiences or memories, the “old tapes” that come back to haunt us at the most inopportune times?  A new study has unlocked the key to this mechanism, offering hope for improvement to everyone.

There is an epidemic of early onset cognitive decline and Alzheimer’s disease in the American public, a public health catastrophe that will only be getting worse as the wave of baby boomers enters their 60s.  A new study indicates there is a simple way for you to prevent this problem – exercise.

      • Statins Drastically Impair Healthy Muscle,

Science about the extreme adverse side effects of the widely used statin drugs for lowering cholesterol continues to leak out.  The latest findings show that statins, at commonly prescribed doses, significantly interfere with the healthy rejuvenation of muscles.

        • Bone Drugs and Jaw Decay – A New Warning,

Those conned into taking bone-damaging bone drugs face the reality that their jaw bone may rot, teeth will loosen, gums will stay inflamed, pain will not go away, and their will be ongoing drainage from the deteriorated jaw bone.  This is the new warning issued to 50 million elderly ...

The balance of friendly flora (acidophilus) residing in your digestive tract has a profound effect on your health.  A new study points out that one of the key roles of these friendly flora is to train your immune system to be competent, and not hyper-react.

Curcumin is a potent anti-inflammatory nutrient with many health benefits.  New research indicates that curcumin can reduce the size of blood clots.

A new study shows that a lack of friendly flora in the digestive tract can set the stage for developing incorrect immune system training that in turn causes the immune system to attack the pancreas, leading to Type I Diabetes.  This problem can be prevented by having adequate friendly flora in your digestive tract.

          • Statins Increase Delirium Rate After Surgery,

If you are 65 or older, taking a statin, and go in for an elective surgery of any type, you are 28% more likely to have delirium following the surgery.

Combining the nutrient carnosine with traditional Parkinson’s treatment resulted in significant improvement in neurologic symptoms and antioxidant function, with no side effects.

A new study with the nutrient acetyl-l-carnitine (ALC) shows that it has a protective affect on nerves, helping to reduce significant pain while keeping nerves cells alive.

A new human study shows that zinc can activate the production of BDNF (brain derived neurotrophic factor), a key substance needed to ward off depression and keep nerve cells alive.

Following a heart attack or a stroke, a low oxygen situation follows (tissue hypoxia) wherein massive free radical damage ensues, driving the severity of the problem.  If free radicals could be stopped then damage would be reduced.  Researchers looking into this issue came upon a new finding. Activation of the enzyme aldehyde dehydrogenase reduced heart attack damage in an experimental model by 60%.

Phosphatidylserine has been shown to offset the stress of intense exercise, a finding that transfers directly to any person under intense stress.

The clear links between dental health and heart disease just got a lot stronger, which may now be a motivational factor for many people to improve oral hygiene.  People with bleeding gums allow entry of up to 700 different types of bacteria directly into their circulation, increasing the risk for a heart attack.

A new understanding of Helicobacter pylori and its mode of operation may save numerous Americans from stomach ulcer and general heartburn and indigestion.

In a study that rocks the wobbly foundation of the low fat diet for heart health paradigm (which is of course a major fraud), LDL cholesterol was lowered by 8% when participants ate 20% of their calories per day from pistachios (34% fat diet).

It is one thing to kill the microbe, and it is another to clean up the battle field.  New research says that if the battle field is not cleaned up properly, with remnants of the previous intruder still hanging around even though it is not infectious anymore, then your immune system may not recognize what is going on and you will be much more likely to get sick again.

Mothers who consume the most fish during pregnancy and lactation as well as nurse their child for longer than 10 months significantly improve the healthy development of their child.

In women ages 25 – 45 a clear link has been established between stress and breast cancer risk.  Women with two or more traumatic events had a 62% greater risk, whereas women who were able to maintain a positive and optimistic outlook had 25% less risk.

            • B12 Levels Predict a Healthier Brain,

A new study analyzing the vitamin B12 levels in elderly individuals (age 61-87) found that higher B12 levels were associated with more normal brain size.  On the other hand, those with the lowest levels of B12 had the most brain atrophy (six times more likely to have a problem).

Those of us living in the Northern states have gotten our first dose of thyroid shock.  Unseasonably cold temperatures have many people feeling that winter is coming too soon – a subconscious perception that is sure to throw many into thyroid distress.

In new research scientists grew human colon cells in folate-depleted and folate-enriched tissue culture.  A lack of folate was clearly linked to DNA damage, as well as numerous other gene-related changes favorable to cancer.

A new study shows that quercetin significantly reduces susceptibility to the flu, great news for everyone as we head into the flu season.

              • Flu Shot Does Not Reduce Risk of Death,

The new research shows that flu shots provide no statistically significant reduction in mortality.

Big Pharma has illegally targeted the elderly and children with the off label marketing of its powerful anti-psychotic schizophrenia drugs, raking in billions in mostly taxpayer-funded fraud while killing the elderly and damaging children for life.  This travesty is beyond barbaric.
