FDA Stuns Everyone with an Anti-Statin Warning

Its not that the extreme danger of muscle damage from taking a high-dose statin to lower cholesterol is stunning – that is known by just about anyone caring to look at the obvious science. What is utterly shocking, is that the FDA actually issued a warning1 on the subject – inadvertently taking aim at the heart of the Big Pharma juggernaut. Rest assured, the FDA never does this because it has to. Furthermore, the FDA must have a lot of other data they are not letting on to, otherwise they would never take this step.
Statin drugs cripple muscle function (your heart is a muscle) and the higher the dose the worse the problem. It is the higher doses the birdbrain doctors have been cramming down the throats of gullible patients across the country. I have written about this horrific scandal for the past decade.
“It’s about time,” said Lynn Willis, professor of the department of pharmacology at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. “I’m of the view that the muscle pain induced by Zocor occurs with much greater frequency than we would think.” Dr. Steven Nissen, chairman of the department of cardiovascular medicine at Cleveland Clinic referenced an editorial he wrote for the Journal of the American Medical Association in 2004, citing potential dangers of the high dose medication. “It takes the FDA a long time to make these decisions,” said Nissen.
