The FDA’s Peramivir H1N1 Swine Flu Experiment

Monday, October 26, 2009 - (Byron J. Richards, CCN)

The FDA has now opened the door for widespread human experimentation during this year’s flu season, allowing an antiviral drug called Peramivir to be used even though it has not passed traditional standards of safety testing. Ever since the FDA crafted its Critical Path agenda it has been looking for excuses to expose vulnerable Americans to toxic drugs under the false pretense of the greater good for all. The H1N1 Swine Flu fear-mongering is providing the cover that the FDA needs to unleash an experiment. The new Obama FDA administration has accepted the baton pass from the recently departed Bush FDA management team (von Eschenbach, et al.).
Monsanto’s Toxic and Mutated World – Is Sugar Safe to Eat?

Monday, October 26, 2009 - (Byron J. Richards, CCN)

It should come as no surprise when a Monsanto product poisons the earth and our food. Our planet has never recovered from the forty-year Monsanto-led PCB contamination that was banned in the U.S. in 1977. To this day environmental PCBs continue to degrade into highly toxic furans and dioxins, wreaking all manner of human health problemsThe new case in point involves several aspects: 1) the bizarre alteration of the nature of food itself by splicing viral, bacterial, and other life forms into the DNA of food (GMO seeds and crops), and 2) the massive increase in the use of glyphosate pesticide (Round Up), which is polluting the water, soil, and food across the globe. Both issues are extremely problematic to human health.
ADHD Drugs Burn Out Nerves Causing Later Life Memory Problems

Friday, October 23, 2009 - (Byron J. Richards, CCN)

The major problem with giving speed-like medication to children and adolescents in an effort to help them focus is that the substances are highly excitotoxic. Any benefit in terms of short-term cognitive improvement is traded off against long-term destruction of nerves.
More Doctors Take Vitamins than Get a Flu Vaccine

Wednesday, October 21, 2009 - (Byron J. Richards, CCN)

72% of physicians and 89% of nurses take vitamins each year. 51% of physicians and 59% of nurses classify themselves as regular consumers of dietary supplements. In comparison, only 42% of health professionals get a seasonal flu vaccine – a number that is inching up this year due to extreme pressure.
224,000 Americans Died From Poor Hospital Care from 2006 – 2008

Saturday, October 17, 2009 - (Byron J. Richards, CCN)

Comparing the best hospitals in the country to the national average finds that there is a 52% lower risk of dying at the top-rated hospitals. When comparing the best to the worst that figure jumps to a 72% lower risk of dying in a top hospital. This discrepancy in care quality has been documented for the past decade and is not improving. We have 74,000 needless deaths a year due to inept care. Maybe health care reform should start in the hospitals.
Neurontin and Lyrica are a Death Sentence for New Brain Synapses

Wednesday, October 14, 2009 - (Byron J. Richards, CCN)

Neurontin and its newer more potent version, Lyrica, are widely used for off-label indications that are an outright flagrant danger to the public. These blockbuster drugs were approved for use even though the FDA had no idea what they actually did in the brain. A shocking new study shows that they block the ability of new brain synapses from forming, drastically reducing the potential for rejuvenating brain plasticity – meaning that these drugs will cause brain decline faster than any substance known to mankind.
Scientists Document How Coumadin Increases Disease Risk

Wednesday, September 30, 2009 - (Byron J. Richards, CCN)

While doctors hand out Coumadin like candy, apparently because they have no idea how to get someone’s sticky blood to flow normally, patient’s livers were apparently not briefed on the strategy – an oversight that is likely to injure and speed the onset of age-associated disease. A new article in the prestigious American Journal of Clinical Nutrition reveals just how vital vitamin K function is to your health.
Pfizer Ponies Up $2.3 Billion for Drug Crimes

Wednesday, September 02, 2009 - (Byron J. Richards, CCN)

Pfizer has agreed to pay $2.3 billion to settle criminal and civil liability due to its illegal off-label promotion of Bextra (a painkiller already pulled from the market), Geodon (like Zyprexa, an atypical antipsychotic that injures children), Zyvox (an antibiotic), and Lyrica (an epilepsy drug). Pfizer will plead guilty to one felony count violation of the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act for misbranding Bextra with the intent to defraud.
Tamoxifen Shockingly Found to Cause Aggressive Breast Cancer

Monday, August 31, 2009 - (Byron J. Richards, CCN)

Long-term Tamoxifen use, as widely promoted by oncologists for women following breast cancer, turns out to increase the risk of highly aggressive hormone receptor-negative breast cancer by 440%. This means that while Tamoxifen reduces the risk for less invasive estrogen positive cancer by 60%, it is at the same time putting many women in extreme peril.
Senator Ted Kennedy - The End of an Era

Wednesday, August 26, 2009 - (Byron J. Richards, CCN)

Senator Ted Kennedy has lost his battle with cancer. Over the next few weeks he will receive many well deserved accolades and condolences from around the world. His passing, in many ways, is the final chapter in an era of America.
Avandia Linked to Heart Failure – FDA to Blame

Wednesday, August 26, 2009 - (Byron J. Richards, CCN)

The simple fact that Avandia remains on the market is a testament to ongoing abysmal corruption at the FDA. The latest study is published in the British Medical Journal and concludes, "Our findings suggest clinically important differences in the cardiovascular safety profiles of rosiglitazone [Avandia] and pioglitazone (Actos] in clinical practice. Given the accumulating evidence of harm with rosiglitazone treatment and the lack of a distinct clinical advantage for the drug over pioglitazone, it is reasonable to question whether ongoing use of rosiglitazone is justified."
Talk About Pulling The Plug On Grandma

Tuesday, August 25, 2009 - (Byron J. Richards, CCN)

The debate on health care reform is heating up. Americans are starting to pay attention to what is going on. Big Pharma, in a panic, has bought protection from the Obama administration. The Obama administration, fearing for its political life, has struck an 11th hour deal with the slimiest industry in the free world – change we can count on?
Laughable Type II Diabetes Research Shines Light on Medical Ineptitude

Sunday, August 16, 2009 - (Byron J. Richards, CCN)

The ability of Western medicine to treat an epidemic of type II diabetes in America shows the gross incompetence of their collective profession. Granted, type II diabetes is a tough problem because it means the natural regulatory systems of the distribution and use of calories is broken. However, if doctors can’t help solve tough problems then what good are they?
Brave Oxford Researchers Say Tamiflu is Not for Kids

Saturday, August 15, 2009 - (Byron J. Richards, CCN)

Governments in the United States and Great Britain plan to use antiviral drugs as a first line of defense against the Swine Flu (along with experimental vaccines as they become available), especially in at risk groups such as young children. A new study by Oxford researchers published in the British Medical Journal questions the wisdom of this advice and points out that the risks are likely to outweigh the very slight benefits. (See full study and related commentary). It is worth noting that this is a conflict between government unelected bureaucrats in charge of “herd control” and doctors trying to evaluate the best interests of patients. Unfortunately, public health is never in the best interest of any one patient, and expects collateral damage. And what if that collateral damage is your child?
Food Stamp Program Linked to Weight Gain in Women

Wednesday, August 12, 2009 - (Byron J. Richards, CCN)

New research based on following participants for fourteen years finds that women on the U.S. food stamp program steadily gain weight, even when compared to others of equivalent socio-economic status that are not in the food stamp program. The same difference was not found amongst men.
Big Pharma Teams with President Obama

Saturday, August 08, 2009 - (Byron J. Richards, CCN)

Big Pharma has struck a deal with the White House – now Americans should really be concerned. Big Pharma will spend 150 million to 200 million during the August recess to run ads on TV to support the president’s struggling health care plan. That is chump change compared to the extra hundreds of billions Big Pharma plans to rake in over the next decade.
Massive Brain Drugging of Children Now Underway

Friday, August 07, 2009 - (Byron J. Richards, CCN)

Get ready for generation Z (Z for zombie). The brains of a generation of children are now being fried by fraudulent brain drugs. Antidepressants are now the number one prescription in America – and our children are the target market.
Health Costs Relating to Obesity Skyrocket

Wednesday, July 29, 2009 - (Byron J. Richards, CCN)

A new report published in the journal Health Affairs shows that the cost of treating obesity-related health problems has doubled in the past decade, from 78 billion a year in 1998 to 147 billion in 2008. Each obese person costs the overall health system an extra $1,429 per year, a 42% higher cost to insure compared to a normal weight person.
Big Pharma & Friends Poised for Massive Profits from Health Care Reform

Monday, July 27, 2009 - (Byron J. Richards, CCN)

While Democrats shoot themselves in both feet trying to explain how their proposed health care reform will be able to contain costs over time, there is another much better organized group who is pushing very hard to get this legislation through and is poised for dramatic profits at the expense of the American taxpayer. That group is the lobbyists that represent Big Pharma, the American Medical Association, hospital groups, and insurance companies.
Monsanto Frankenfoods Take Aim at Wheat

Wednesday, July 22, 2009 - (Byron J. Richards, CCN)

Monsanto is dusting off its wheat research and making a new effort to turn our wheat crop into one of its Frankenfoods – a serious cause for alarm in anyone who wants to eat normal food.
Michael Jackson is Not Alone

Thursday, July 09, 2009 - (Byron J. Richards, CCN)

It appeared that Michael’s problem was a combination of pain and sleeplessness, along with a history of pain medication abuse. His position and wealth allowed him atypical access to his own anesthesiologist, and he possessed an array of powerful knock-out meds that apparently did him in. Certainly the problem must have been mostly Michael and one bad-apple physician. Well, not so fast.
Death Trail of HRT Becomes Clearer

Friday, June 26, 2009 - (Byron J. Richards, CCN)

A new study evaluating the decline in breast cancer rates shows just how damaging the medical use of horse urine extract and synthetic progesterone has been to American women for the past four decades.
Perchlorate Found in Infant Formulas

Saturday, April 04, 2009 - (Byron J. Richards, CCN)

Scientists at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have found perchlorate in the various brands of powdered baby formula that they tested. Perchlorate is a thyroid toxin, and feeding it to babies is a really bad idea. Unfortunately, the breast milk of women across the country has also been found to be contaminated with perchlorate. Perchlorate in breast milk has also been found to displace iodine - leading to potential serious thyroid problems for infants.
Antidepressants Strongly Linked to Heart Disease

Wednesday, March 11, 2009 - (Byron J. Richards, CCN)

Researchers have documented an alarming link between the use of antidepressants and the development of serious heart disease. The link was discovered by following 63,449 women as part of the Nurses' Health Study. The results show a “specific relationship between antidepressant use and sudden cardiac death.” The specific conclusion of the study states, “In this cohort of women without baseline coronary heart disease, depressive symptoms were associated with fatal coronary heart disease, and a measure of clinical depression including antidepressant use was specifically associated with sudden cardiac death.”
Citizens Win Huge Supreme Court Victory over Big Pharma and the FDA

Thursday, March 05, 2009 - (Byron J. Richards, CCN)

In a stunning and unexpected 6-3 ruling the right-leaning Supreme Court went against the wishes of the last president, took the wind out of the sails of health care reform of the current president, sent irresponsible Big Pharma a major wake up call, and bluntly told the arrogant FDA that they are indeed not above the rule of law. It is a major victory for every American citizen.
